Tegal
Sari is a truly great Balinese hotel, set amongst
the rice fields, just off Jalan Hanoman Road,
on the southern outskirts of Ubud. Separated from
the road by a footpath through a lush green paddy
field. Tegal Sari has it's restaurant, bar, unique
stone bottomed swimming pool, open air gym, massage
bale and duplex room units along a thin line,
leaving guests virtually surrounded by the local
fields.
The
town center is around a 15 minute walk away. And
it is your option to walk along the street and
the shops, or to walk much of the way through
fields. The hotel has a very good and value restaurant,
set beside a rice field. However, there are a
number of dining options just where the path leads
onto the local road.
The
Standard and Deluxe Rooms are laid out on the
other side of the reception and face their own
rice paddy views. There is one particular room
that everyone asks for (Room Number 10 - formally
room 7 - A Deluxe Room), because it sits away
from the other rooms and has a 180 degree view
of the garden area and fields beyond. The duplex
rooms occupy probably the best location, being
so close to the restaurant and pool area, whilst
being surrounded by a superb range of tropical,
flowering plants, and of course the rice fields.
